Journalist Ahmed Al-Bursh received a call from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) ordering him to come and take his son, Jalal, who has gone missing for over 35 days.

During the call, they told him that the Israeli army returned his child and they will be reunited.

When he went expecting to finally embrace his child, he was met with a devastating shock when it turned out that the boy presented to him was not his son.

The Palestinian young man, Ameen Khaled Al-Ghoul, has been missing since 14 November 2023, after he attempted to move from the southern Gaza Strip to the north.

Since his disappearance, his family has contacted prisoner affairs institutions and other relevant authorities in an effort to determine his fate, but they were consistently informed that he is not held in any Israeli detention facilities.

Recently, the family was able to identify him after an image of a blindfolded and handcuffed detainee was published on the social media account of an Israeli soldier on Instagram.

The family has since appealed to international and human rights organizations, urging urgent intervention to uncover his whereabouts and clarify his fate amid ongoing uncertainty.
