Scottish firefighters may soon have to retrieve a donated fire engine that was meant for their colleagues in Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. The vehicle, refitted and stocked with medical and firefighting equipment, has been held at Israel’s Port of Ashdod for 15 months despite having clearance documents. Israeli authorities have imposed over $21,000 in storage fees, prompting the firefighters, who had campaigned for its release, to consider bringing it back to the UK after talks with the government.

Israel is using financial tools as weapons to destroy Palestinian lives by withholding tax revenues and restricting banking transactions, a UN expert said Thursday.

67 doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare workers, who were seized during Israeli occupation raids on health facilities, were released during the latest prisoner swap on 13 October.

Healthcare Workers Watch (HWW) has documented 95 Palestinian medical staff still being held in the occupation’s prisons. 80 of these detainees are from Gaza, while 15 are from the West Bank.
