In breach of the ceasefire, five Palestinian fisherman were abducted by the Israeli navy this morning while sailing for fishing off Gaza City, according to local sources.
“They stood in a silence so heavy it seemed to bend the light around them.
Their smiles were hesitant — like doors that had forgotten how to open. And in that moment, I realized: freedom itself can be fragile.
We who survived war thought we had endured the worst — the bombs, the hunger, the endless waiting. But their stories shattered that belief.”

Poll results: ~80% of West Bank Palestinians want Hamas’s armed wing to maintain its weapons (the figure is ~70% of Palestinians in the occupied territory overall).
"Among Palestinians, support for Hamas has increased over the last two years."
The West Bank is governed by the Palestinian Authority, dominated by Hamas’s secular rival, Fatah.

The Guardian reported that Palestinians are facing one of the toughest missions in modern warfare as they struggle to recover thousands of bodies from beneath Gaza’s rubble a year after the war.
It estimated that 10,000 to 14,000 people remain buried under 61 million tons of debris, while rescue teams work with basic tools because heavy equipment is barred from entering the Strip.
In the first weeks of the truce, 472 bodies were recovered, and Israel returned 195 Palestinian bodies in exchange for the remains of Israeli captives. The lack of DNA testing devices has made identifying victims nearly impossible.
The report added that clearing the debris could take at least seven years, and unexploded ordnance continues to threaten lives. Gaza, it concluded, has become “a city of craters and ruins,” with normal life still a distant hope.
