The Higher Regional Court in Zweibrücken acquitted a woman who used Nazi symbols in Instagram posts criticizing Israel’s actions, saying such use is not illegal when it is part of sharp political criticism and accompanied by a clear rejection of Nazi crimes.

The ruling overturned a previous €2,400 fine issued by a lower court, with judges warning against broadly restricting freedom of expression.
