Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA, said in a post on X that what is in place is “a ceasefire in name only,” as reports indicate 30 people were killed in Gaza in a single day.

Lazzarini noted that nearly 500 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect, including more than 100 children, according to UNICEF.

According to Israeli reports, “limited movement of people only” would be permitted through Rafah crossing starting on Sunday.

The Rafah crossing is expected to be reopened tomorrow, but only for people wanting to leave Gaza. Israel says it will not allow any goods to enter the besieged enclave.

The crossing will be overseen by multiple parties, including Egypt, the Palestinian Authority and a European Union mission, but Israel retains control over who is allowed to enter or exit.
