Billionaire Marc Rowan, a member of US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace for Gaza, has donated $1.5 million this year to the United Democracy Project (UDP), the AIPAC-linked super PAC, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

The Intercept reports that Rowan gave $1 million in March and another $500,000 in July. UDP has spent millions backing pro-Israel candidates and opposing politicians critical of Israel, including candidates targeted by the PAC during the 2026 election cycle.

Rowan has also promoted Gaza’s economic and development potential under Trump’s post-war framework, including reconstruction of its coastline and infrastructure.

Palestinian doctor Hussam Abu Safiya has told his lawyer that he is still being beaten in detention by his Israeli guards.

Abu Safiya told his lawyer this week that guards beat him and threatened him, telling the doctor he cannot talk about the conditions he is being held in.

"The guards beat him in various parts of his body, including sensitive areas, using hands, feet and batons," the lawyer said.
