The EU likes to think of itself as a normative power – a community of values, committed to upholding international law, promoting peace, protecting civilians, and building a rules-based global order. These are not just lofty ideals; they are enshrined in EU treaties and Council conclusions.

#Europe’s image as a principled, reliable, and rules-based actor is being destroyed – not by autocratic #Russia and #China, or other adversaries with dictatorial regimes, but by its own refusal to enforce international law when the perpetrator is an ally.

At the heart of this disgraceful paralysis are governments that have chosen to side with impunity. The #EU spoiler governments are not acting in the interest of peace between #Israel and #Palestine. They are undermining European unity and damaging the EU’s global credibility and partnerships. They are also complicit in prolonging the suffering of millions of Palestinians, endangering Israel’s security.

The EU’s inaction is not just a strategic blunder – it is an appalling moral failure as it enables Israel’s impunity and entrenches a conflict that will continue to fuel instability, radicalisation, and despair for generations in the #MiddleEast.

Through the #European Innovation Council (#EIC), a body of the European Commission created to promote scientific and technological excellence, "#Israel" receives millions of euros that directly fuel its industry of #war and #genocide.

#Drone technologies, #surveillance systems, and artificial intelligence programs applied to population control continue to receive European financial support. These are not “neutral innovations”: they are integral components of the genocidal machinery devastating #Gaza.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, the #EU suspended all scientific and technological cooperation, imposed sanctions, and politically isolated Moscow.

When "Israel' destroys Gaza and accumulates accusations of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide, with an international arrest warrant against Prime Minister Netanyahu issued by the International Criminal Court, Brussels maintains and strengthens its cooperation, transferring public funds that end up in Israeli military-industrial companies.

An intolerable double standard: in #Ukraine, international law is invoked to sanction #Russia; in #Palestine, it is trampled to protect "Israel".

...Every euro flowing from Brussels to Tel Aviv becomes active complicity in genocide.
