Paris authorized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plane to fly through French airspace Tuesday as he traveled to New York for the UN General Assembly, according to a diplomatic source, Anadolu reports.

“This is the fifth time. It is time to put an end to this France that humiliates itself and tramples on international law,” European Parliament member Emma Fourreau said on US social media company X.

Human rights organization Amnesty International on Tuesday called on UEFA and FIFA to suspend Israel’s football association, saying its Nations League participation is “unconscionable” because of the association’s support for settlement-based clubs.

Amnesty said it wrote to FIFA and UEFA in October 2025 to call for the IFA to be suspended unless clubs based in Israeli settlements were excluded from Israeli competitions.

Folks, you know Aseel – along with @rania40, she helps @casey run verification calls every week to help her fellow Gazans on the fediverse¹.

Thanks to your efforts, we were able to find enough patrons to provide a steady income for her and her family that covers the rent for an apartment (they were previously living in a tent).

But I’ve recently become aware that the move also had some repurcussions. People living in tents apparently receive aid that helps them with some of the basic necessities (food, etc.) However, those who are in apartments don’t get that. So while Aseel and her family have better shelter, they are now finding it difficult to afford everyday necessities.

While one-off donations are great (thank you), what’s more sustainable is a monthly patronage like that which helps pay their rent (which you can set up through her PayPal account).

So if you can, please help. And if not, please share so others might.
